CanSIA Member Networks
Three Networks for CanSIA Members to JoinProfessionals employed by a Corporate or Supporter Member are eligible to participate in one or more of the following three CanSIA Networks:

- Utility & Regulatory Affairs Network
- Communications Network
Those who sign up for a network will receive regular email communications and updates relevant to their Network(s) of interest and will be invited to attend 3-4 informational webinars per year. By joining a network, members also ensure that they will be invited to participate in Forums to work through industry issues.

Policy & Market Development Network
The Policy & Market Development Network will be of interest to those functioning in a policy development, government relations, or business development role and will focus on issues affecting the market for solar energy across Canada. The Network will be led by CanSIA’s Directory of Policy and Regulatory Affairs, Ben Weir, and will track and pursue opportunities for market growth through:
- Energy and environmental policy development;
- Electricity markets and supply-mix planning; and,
- Procurement design and implementation.
Utility & Regulatory Affairs Network
The Utility & Regulatory Affairs Network will deal with the regulatory environment affecting solar project development. This network will be of interest to professionals representing companies who either produce or procure solar energy as well as other interested stakeholders in the industry.
This network will exchange information on distributed generation programs (such as PPAs), the relationship between solar and electricity rates, best practices for interconnection and innovations in technology that impact the feasibility or preference for solar as an electricity source, such as storage.
This Network will be led by CanSIA’s Director of Market Intelligence and Research, Patrick Bateman and will track and influence the regulatory environment in favour of increased solar development and will cover:

Communications Network
The Communications Network will be comprised of self-selected communications professionals and will also include professionals who may not have a traditional marketing or communications role in their company but have a vested interest in the industry’s unified voice on a number of matters.
This network will support the other two networks while aiming to work collaboratively in support of:
- Issues management;
- Reactive media relations;
- Earned media;
- Industry media relations; and,
- Content development.
